VCR Appointed Positions

I am proud to announce that I have nominated and the Executive Board has confirmed Helen Richards as our club Attorney General. The Attorney General is responsible for running our club elections and keeping us in line with our governing documents. The AG also sits as a voting member of the Executive Board. Congratulations, Helen!

Also, I would like to announce that I am opening up the application process for the Special Assistant to the President. The Special Assistant will assist me in administering my duties and sits as a non-voting member of the Executive Board. Please email me at j.anderson@vandy if you are interested in this position.

State Convention This Saturday

Get excited… because we have the TN College Republicans State Convention coming to Vanderbilt this Saturday, April 14th! We are very honored to have it here at Vanderbilt this year, making it convenient for all of you to attend. You’ll meet fellow college republicans from all over the state of Tennessee, and you’ll even enjoy a free lunch from Chick-fil-a!

We’ve been in contact with both Congressman Marsha Blackburn and Senator Bill Frist and are hoping to see them both in attendance.

The convention will be held in Averbuch Auditorium at the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management. It starts at 9:00 AM sharp, so you might want to arrive a few minutes early. Please bring friends and come celebrate the greatness of being a republican!

General Body Meeting and Officer Elections

VCR will have a General Body meeting next Tuesday, April 10 at 7 pm in Calhoun 109. The location will be announced soon. We will be electing our officers for next year, so if you are interested in running, please email our Attorney General, Stephanie Gates. The announced candidates so far include:

Dodgeball Game This Wednesday

Come out and help the Vanderbilt College Republican Team beat the College Democrats in a good old-fashioned game of dodgeball.  We will be playing the College Democrats in the Memorial Auxiliary Gym from 5 pm to 7 pm this Wednesday.
